Kiddy Beauty Pageants

There is a show that the Cable station, The Learning Channel airs, called Toddlers and Tiaras. I have viewed this show about 3 times in it's entirety since it's beginning. I not only find this show distasteful, but I am wondering if it is very close to the line to child abuse and child pornography.
Basically, young children, mostly little girls compete in a Beauty Pageant. I have no problems with pageants where the young contestants compete naturally. The problem is when the contestants compete in what is called the Glitz Pageant. Young girls as young as two are using false eye lashes, spray on tanning (which in the long run could cause lung problems if exposed for long periods of time from accidentally inhaling the fumes), hair pieces, etc. They are coached by trainers and their moms to use seductive moves to catch the eye of the judges. They wear a ton of make up and dress in outfits that most sensible parents would not allow their 16 year old daughters go out in public. In my opinion, they look like little kiddy hookers.
Many years ago, another contestant who competed in these kind of pageants was killed on I believe Christmas Day. 6 year old Jonbenet Ramsey was found on December 26, 1996 in the wine cellar of her home wrapped in a white blanket and a nylon cord wrapped around her neck. Was this murder due to her competing in pageants, we will never know. I do know this, with all the perverts, freaks and pedophiles out there today, it would not surprise me at all. What I would really like to know, are these pageants closed to the public, or could any Tom, Dick or Harry gain access. Are the places where these pageants held, are they near anywhere sex offenders reside and may have access. And are the mothers really doing it for their daughters, or are they living their dreams through their daughters.
I thought the Learning Channel aired programs that were meant to teach and inform us the viewers. I can honestly say that Toddlers ans Tiaras have no learning value whatsoever. I can only hope and pray that these gifts from God will be safe from harm. TLC not only films the contest, but, they also film from the child's home and films the town and state of the contestant and films outside of their residence. If I had my way, contests such as this would be outlawed. May God Protect These Children.
